What's Next?

Well I have devoted much timed to a company that I am not sure is worth devoting the time to...this has messed up my posting. So the goal for the new is to get back into the sex advice and single party tips. Vegas has relaxed me and given me time to prioritize. Stay tuned!!!

The Great Escape!!

I had enough of being locked in the responsibility box so I have taken off to Vegas for a few days. I'm fascinated by the people that think this is insane. Vegas...on my own...what's the prob?!! I travel alone frequently..I'm single. My other travel buddies had other places they wanted to be besides with me so I went on my own. Glad I did! No schedules, I'm not even paying attention to time!! No one else's commitments to have...no plans!! This was a great idea and Vegas is a great place to be single.

I'm staying at the Hard Rock Hotel..nice digs. Can't knock the nice rooms and free shuttle to the Fashion Show Mall (and the strip). No pool because it's "Winter"-- heehee winter in Vegas--but I am doing fine without a pool. $2 Bloody Mary's in the morn, $5 drinks at night...and no one bats an eye at a single lady chilling at the bar. I've been able to strike up conversations with everyone! No pick ups, but I'm cool with that--no worries!

My only complaint is that bartenders are not social enough, but I did meet two while getting drunk at Ainsworth...they weren't working. Maybe that's the ticket-- gotta em drunk off shift ;)
An eyesore on my walk back from the Shops...rememeber when it had a show..

I think I should also add in how safe I feel in this city. Could be that I was just here a few months ago..could be that this city is built for singles..I dunno. All I know is that this complex is awesome and I can't wait to get back when the weather is better!!!

The Single Supplement

So I am attempting to buy a trip very last minute and cannot find anything of value. It has been a disgusting feat and, just because I am single, I pay more. Does this even make sense? I'm using less space and I need to pay and extra $100+++ ?!!!  Gahh...that's it! I'm done. I'm spending my trip money in a bar here in snowy old Toronto!!!

This supplement is completely illogical and unfair. If I had more time on my hands I would look into it and find out who I can put the human rights complaint on!! Any suggestions....

Single on a Saturday: Etc.....

So I had day job crap to deal with all week so no party. Not even a booty delivery! Why am I stuck in this! I need a party....holidays are near....bartenders beware.

Single on a Saturday: Pub Crawling Holiday Party

Well I'm convinced that I am too old to drink like I used to. I've warmed up to more refined ways of getting my head rushes and mood swings. That is why this Saturday almost killed me. It was the revival of all revivals- The Return of the 12 Bars of Christmas (single ladies edition).
Yup, many years of this pub crawl led to a need for scarves

Basically from 8pm to closing we hit 12 bars and have to have a shot in each. By bar 7 I had to tap out.....glad it was in my area. Who knew Roncey had so many awesome places in a row. The other two ladies and I made our way through an assortment of pubs that we would never have otherwise gone into.

I'm sure there was socializing...but I'll be damned if I can remember. Well its a good thing that, like Christmas, this only comes once a year!!

Single on a...Friday: Night at the Museum

It could not have been a better night. Drinking amongst dinosaurs. It really made me see the museum in a whole new light. For those that are not in the know, I went to Friday Night Live at the Royal Ontario Museum.

I wish I had been going to these sooner. It's a fun time with a nice diverse crowd. Drinks were only $6 and you bought tickets in advance so the bar was pretty quick. I don't think I've been to the museum in a few years. This was a great comeback.

It was like a nightclub...for stylish nerdy types. Odd....but good fun. The DJ was awesome, the crowd was well behaved and the men were moustached up and in decent attire. The ladies put some effort into their wear too...but in different ways. There were prom dresses and jeans.

Good times had by all!! Might I also point out it is a very social pick up joint...only on for a limited time!! Check out the site: http://www.rom.on.ca/en/activities-programs/rom-friday-night-live

Single on a Saturday: Damn you day job

After last weekends mighty rush, I opted to stay home this time. I like how that sounds as though I made an adult choice...nope. I had to get work done. Until I make a  career out of this blog, I have to focus on my bread and butter--a job that I only slighty enjoy in a company that I am not sure I like at all....Well the cabin fever will set in soon and you'll get an amazing post when the animal gets released...until then...

Single on a Saturday: Sausage with a side of meatballs

Is it just me or did Toronto have a huge influx of men in the bars this weekend?

Not complaining, just saying…and it was good times. Let’s take it from the top.

Friday, after the shittiest work week so far, I went to a friend’s bday get together at Encore-- up near Dovercourt and Dupont. I walked down a scary dark road, that I probably should have not walked down, and made it to this jamming party. Great DJ playing great old school tunes. Men….mostly men at the bar. I didn’t think anything of it then. I just enjoyed my booze and reconnecting with people I know.

I then toddled off to PJ O’briens on Colbourne for a hot whiskey and to celebrate with other friends. This is where it became apparent that Toronto was taken over by men. Men with ugly mo’s, but men just the same. The place was packed with them. I shifted my way to the bar to meet up with the ladies.

So my one hot whisky turned into several. It was nice to just hang out and chit chat. There was one annoying guy  that must have really thought being sarcastic and unsexy was a the best way to get into bed with someone. He played the cockblocker. I tried to entertain and have fun with his dance floor antic, but he kept holding my hand (or trying). I wasn’t that drunk and not that into touching him. Eventually I started to ignore him.  Unfortunately, most of the other men at the bar were not as social (or were perhaps dismayed).

That pub used to be a great place to pick up hot Irish men as you dance to a live Irish Folk band.  Tonight there was not such a vibe. No Irish men (beyond the bartenders) and no Irish band. It was almost like being at a wedding reception…maybe it was a reception and we just did not realize it. Whoops.

Now let’s shuffle on to Saturday when two singles decided it was time to be out all night. Yup this was a 9am-er. I met up with my friend over in the Queen West area. I have been turned off of this neighbourhood before, but tonight was different. It was definitely an all-time best.

We started at …um…I don`t know the name of the place. It was on Queens West somewhere west of Beaconsfield. It was a nice little place with a DJ and bar. That`s all I needed on Saturday.  My Patron CafĂ© was only $9 and it was delicious! It wasn`t busy, but the male: female ratio was higher than the place before.

We chatted and then moved down the street. Nice and random…and I cannot remember the name of the second place.  Good music, $4 tequila shots, and men men men…. At this point in the night we were doing shots and taling travel with a guy at the bar. Nice local type of place; the bartender knew him by name!!  I really hope we find it again.

Then we wondered to Brooklynn, but it was full…and there was a line.

I do not stand in lines. As far as I'm concerned, 20 years of clubbing is worth being able to walk on in.

We hustled off to another bar…the Gladstone. After my last experience (See the Nuit Blah Edition) I did not want to go, but there wasn`t a line up and it was karaoke and that it is always fun times. I don`t sing but I love dancing to it.

After one drink we decided it was time to try Brooklynn again. Of course at this point there is no line up. Now here is where it all gets crazy…the man to lady ratio was somewhere in the area of 5:1. Great odds…great odds….I think it is also safe to mention that they were not pretentious or ugly. I was definitely satisfied. The music was great and everyone was so social.Did I mention the men were hot. Just saying. I haven't seen a lot of hot men in this city in a while...especially concentrated in one room!

I danced off steam; socialized; I loved it and went on to the after hours. Made it to my home at 9:30am after a mini walk of shame...that's how single gals (should) do it.

I feel like I'm getting my groove back...f-you horrible week, I win!!!
